Welcome to the Rural Municipality of Macdonald Fire Department (MFS) webpage. The MFD is dispatched through the Provincial 911 system. The Macdonald Fire Department is a volunteer fire service with a complement of approximately 40 dedicated paid on-call firefighters, trained to Level 1 and Level 2 Firefighting, NFPA Certification. The MFD was established in 1974. The fire hall is located at 188 Mandan Drive in Sanford, Manitoba.
The MFD serves the citizens of the Municipality covering an approximate area of 1,106 square kilometers and a population of 8,120 (2021 Census). On average, the MFD responds to 163 incidents yearly which includes fires (structural, grass, vehicle), motor vehicle collisions, hazardous-material and EMS medical assistance for example.
